As Star Wars attempts to get back to the big screen after many false starts and a new slate coming into focus, Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman) seems to be back in the mix. Jenkins was previously attached to the Rogue Squadron film for LucasFilm, which was slated to be released in December of 2023. As of last May, the film was no longer in active development.

Now, speaking with the Talking Pictures podcast, Jenkins has shared that she is back on the project, mainly because Wonder Woman 3 isn’t happening in James Gunn’s new DC Universe. She further indicated that she is in the process of writing the script.

Star Wars hasn’t been on the big screen since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker, but now has multiple projects in the works including The Mandalorian & Grogu, a Rey Skywalker-fronted film (with Daisy Ridley returning), a Dave Filoni film to close out the Disney+ story arcs, and more rumored.
