Why did they take a break? I’m just coming right out of the gate, storming to the front with this one. The first four episodes of season two of Invincible, Prime Video’s massive animated series based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, aired at the end of last year and they were pretty incredible. It already felt like an eternity waiting for this season to come around, especially coming off of how great the first season was. I’m not entirely sure why they chose to wait to drop the last half of the season. Maybe it was to avoid crunch? If it does end up being that, I suppose that makes sense, but I’d be surprised if the whole season was done and they just decided to keep it just to mess with us.

Believe it or not, Prime is keeping the second half of this season close to their chests. So close, in fact, that there isn’t even an official synopsis released. Following the events of the first half of season two, Mark Grayson, known as Invincible, will battle new enemies in space and on his home planet, Earth. There's not really much else to say without spoilers, so if you watched the first half or if you’ve read the comics, you probably know what’s about to go down. I mean, Invincible eventually has to face the new multiversal threat that is Angstrom Levy, right? There are some wonderful little teases of what could happen in the future, which you can see in the trailer below.

Invincible’s massive voice cast includes Steven Yeun (BEEF, the upcoming Mickey 17), J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the upcoming Juror #2), Sandra Oh (Quiz Lady, the upcoming The Sympathizer), Sterling K. Brown (American Fiction, This is Us), Gillian Jacobs (Community, The Bear), Zazie Beetz (Atlanta, the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Lilo & Stitch), Walton Goggins (The Righteous Gemstones, the upcoming Fallout), Chris Diamantopoulos (The Boys in the Boat, Red Notice), Seth Rogen (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Dumb Money), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths), Ross Marquand (The Walking Dead, What If…?), Jason Mantzoukas (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Big Mouth), Melise (The Flash, The Shannara Chronicles), Grey DeLisle (Batman: Arkham City, The Loud House), Khary Payton (The Walking Dead, Teen Titans GO!), Andrew Rannells (A Simple Favor, Trolls Band Together), Clancy Brown (SpongeBob Squarepants, Starship Troopers), Jay Pharoah (Unsane, Saturday Night Live), Ben Schwartz (the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, Parks & Recreation), Peter Cullen (the Transformers franchise), Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Orphan Black), and Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul, VEEP). I’m sure that more will be revealed as the episodes go on, especially since Cullen and Seehorn were surprise additions during Part 1 of this season.

Season 2 of Invincible returns airing the last four episodes weekly starting March 14 on Prime Video.
